Job Brief
The Train Control Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of electric gate crossings, signal systems, track switches, and intercommunication systems within the railroad framework. This role requires expertise in electrical systems and signal technology, ensuring safe and efficient train operations. Responsibilities
- Install and configure electric gate crossings and related signal equipment.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of signal systems and track switches to ensure optimal functionality.
- Test and troubleshoot signal equipment and intercommunication systems for effective performance.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on signaling infrastructure to enhance safety and reliability.
- Document all maintenance activities and repairs in compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement upgrades and improvements.
- Adhere to safety regulations and protocols while working on railroad systems.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in train control systems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree in electronics or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in railroad signal maintenance or similar role.
- Proficient in electrical systems, signaling technology, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards related to railroad operations.
- Certification in signal maintenance or related technical certifications is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various work sites as needed.
