Job Brief
As a Hospital Orderly, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare facilities by transporting patients safely to various departments, such as operating rooms and x-ray rooms. Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, or moveable beds to designated areas within the hospital.
- Assist nursing staff by preparing and cleaning equipment for medical procedures.
- Maintain an organized stock of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for patient care.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control standards while handling patients and equipment.
- Respond promptly to requests from nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Support the overall patient experience by providing friendly and respectful service.
- Document and report any concerns regarding patient safety or equipment functionality.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to improve skills and knowledge related to the role.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare training is a plus.
- Prior experience in a healthcare or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to lift and move patients safely using proper techniques.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures.
- Current CPR and first aid certification is preferred or must be obtained within a specified timeframe.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
