Job Brief
The Mortgage Closing Clerk plays a critical role in the loan closing process by interviewing loan applicants, gathering necessary documentation, and verifying applicant information. Responsibilities
- Interview loan applicants to collect essential information and assess their eligibility.
- Conduct background investigations and verify references to ensure the validity of loan applications.
- Prepare comprehensive loan request documents and forward findings to the appraisal department.
- Review loan paperwork for completeness and accuracy before submission for approval.
- Facilitate transactions between loan originators, borrowers, and sellers post-loan approval.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all loan transactions in compliance with regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients to address inquiries and provide updates on loan status.
- Coordinate with various departments to expedite the loan closing process.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in mortgage processing or a related financial services role.
- Strong understanding of mortgage regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and mortgage processing software.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interaction.
