Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Local Area Network Administrator to manage and maintain our organization’s local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in network infrastructure, operating systems, and server management. This role requires experience in system monitoring, network resource analysis, and user access control to ensure optimal network performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain LAN and WAN systems to support organizational operations.
- Perform system monitoring to ensure the integrity and availability of network and server resources.
- Review system and application logs, verifying the completion of scheduled jobs, including backups.
- Analyze network and server resource consumption to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Control user access to network resources and ensure compliance with security protocols.
- Install and upgrade software, maintaining accurate software licenses.
- Assist in network modeling, analysis, and planning for future upgrades and expansions.
- Coordinate between network hardware and software to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Local Area Network Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols, network security, and data communications.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing physical and virtual servers.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and network resource analysis.
- Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or UNIX.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Network+) are preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
